Don’t work in front of the TV when you have a stay at home job

This is something I used to do: take my laptop on my lap (how convenient), and join my family watching TV. Sounds great but there were 2 downfalls:

• although sitting in the same room, my family complained I wasn’t interacting with them
• although having the laptop on,TV and family is way too distracting to do decent work

Yes, I did get some things done, but really: the efficiency was not there: what could be done in half an hour during the day, would take the rest of the evening when with family and TV.

So just reserve to yourself a time-slot for work and a time-slot for fun and family!
