When people ask me how to rank high in the search engine, my answer is always: "content is king".

The answer I get back then is: "yes we know that, but how do we do it…"

Well: why are those Ethiopian runners winning marathons each time on the Olympic Games?

• because their body is made for running: they start with an advantage

Same with ranking high on the search engines:

• because you work on it every day
• because you know SEO techniques: you start with an advantage

But the main thing is : you work on it every day.

If you want to rank high for "this topic", than you need to make sure you cover "this topic" from left, right and center.

And if you have done all that and you still don’t rank high… then most likely the websites ranking higher than you have "the Ethiopian advantage". Therefore you should check your competition out before you start your race.
